Shivdeep Lande, who belonged to a political family in Maharashtra, was known for his strict administrative abilities. He tendered his resignation on 19 September 2024. He had given this information through social media. Even after resigning, his file was circulating in different departments of Patel Bhawan.
According to sources in CM Secretariat, Shivdeep Lande's resignation was rejected due to which the process was getting delayed. The IPS officer had said that he was resigning due to personal reasons. However, due to the sudden resignation of this big IPS of Bihar, many discussions had started. It is being speculated that Shivdeep Lande can start a political innings. Although he had given the reason for resignation as personal.

IPS officer Shivdeep Lande, who was in the police service for almost 18 years, had written in his resignation letter that, “My dear Bihar, after holding a government post for the last 18 years, today I have resigned from this post. All these years I have considered Bihar above me and my family. If I have committed any mistake during my tenure as a government servant, I apologize for it. I have resigned from the Indian Police Service today, but I will remain in Bihar and Bihar will remain my workplace in future also.”
