‘Saheli Pink Smart Card’ will be launched in Delhi to provide free travel facility in DTC buses to women, eunuchs and girls above 12 years of age. According to sources, this initiative will start from March 2. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta informed that on the same day, President Draupadi Murmu will launch four welfare schemes related to women of the Delhi government. Under this scheme, beneficiary women and girls will get convenience in bus travel as well as easy and digital travel experience through smart cards.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “March 2 is a special day for the daughters and women of Delhi. Many important schemes for women empowerment will be inaugurated in the dignified presence of President Draupadi Murmu.”

Last year on February 20, the achievement of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming the government was celebrated in Delhi. On this occasion, several programs were organized in the capital highlighting the work done by the government. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that around 17 lakh women will get financial assistance for LPG cylinders. The amount under the scheme will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This facility will be provided especially on the occasions of Holi and Diwali. Earlier, the Delhi government had announced the launch of ‘Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’, upgrading and reorganizing the Ladli scheme of 2008.

Under this scheme, free travel facility will be provided for women and transgenders in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses. Officials said that this scheme will be formally launched in the program on March 2.

Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 100 crore will be deposited directly into the accounts of 40,642 girls. It aims to empower women and girls’ financial empowerment and asset security.
