President Murmu Presents Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar
President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar today in New Delhi, honouring children for exceptional achievements in bravery, social service, environment, sports, art and culture, and science and technology.
She congratulated the awardees and emphasised that the children brought pride to their families, communities, and the nation. Moreover, she expressed confidence that their accomplishments will inspire children across India to pursue excellence and uphold high ideals.
The President then recalled the supreme sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his four sons 320 years ago. Furthermore, she noted that the bravery of the youngest Sahibzadas continues to be honoured worldwide. She paid tribute to child heroes who laid down their lives for truth and justice.
While highlighting the awardees’ achievements, she mentioned seven-year-old Vaka Lakshmi Pragnika, who strengthened India’s reputation as a chess powerhouse. In addition, she praised Ajay Raj and Mohammed Sidan P for saving lives with courage and intelligence. She also remembered nine-year-old Vyoma Priya and eleven-year-old Kamlesh Kumar, who sacrificed their lives while saving others.
She further lauded ten-year-old Shravan Singh, who risked his life during Operation Sindoor to deliver essentials to soldiers. Similarly, she applauded differently-abled Shivani Hosuru Uppara, who excelled in sports despite challenges. Rising cricket talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi also received recognition for setting records in a highly competitive field.
