Pressure was put on her in-laws to change her religion, the victim appealed to the higher authorities for justice

Sandila / Hardoi. A case of forced religious conversion has come to light in a village in Beniganj Kotwali area. The victim has appealed for justice by releasing a video and giving a complaint to the police. Baliram, a resident of Bhitharia in Beniganj Kotwali area, told in the complaint given to the Kotwali police that he lives with his wife in Ludhiana and works as a laborer, on 16 September his wife had a stroke, for which he came to the village for treatment, and was getting her treated by a private doctor, his wife said that she will get well only if he takes her to her maternal home.

The victim took his wife to Raipalpur village. His father in law Shyamu son of Nattha resident of Raipalpur police station Beniganj and his brother in law Rajkumar and wife Bhaana resident of Sukhai Purwa and Sitaram wife Savitri resident of Parihawan police station Sandila, who were present there, unanimously pressured him to convert his religion only then his wife will get well. When he opposed this then all of them unanimously started abusing him and beat him up. The victim has given a complaint in the police station and demanded action against those who forced him to convert his religion. In this connection Beniganj Kotwal Brijesh Kumar Rai said that the complaint has been received and necessary action will be taken after investigation.
