Cervical cancer is cancer that occurs at the end of the uterus. More than 12,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year in the United States. Experts say that there is a risk of this number doubling in India. In such a situation, it was announced in the last budget of the government that for the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer, free vaccination will be given to girls of 9-14 years of age.

As per the report given by Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, cervical cancer is the most common type of cancer in India and its number is increasing day by day. Cervical cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases affecting women in India, which spreads from the vagina to the uterus.

Cervical cancer is directly related to HIV (HPV) infection. It is one of the most common types of cancer in our country. Since it spreads contagiously, the greater the delay in treatment, the greater the risk to life.

It is important to get the HPV vaccine because HPV infection is the leading cause of cervical cancer. Girls aged 11-26 years should compulsorily get HIV vaccine. Women should not have unprotected sex because the disease is spread by a man infected with HPV.
