Prime Minister Modi said on trade deal with 38 countries – ‘Political stability has restored the confidence of investors in India’

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that political stability has restored investor confidence in India. He said this in an interview given to news agency PTI after the Union Budget and trade deal with America and European Union. This is his first interview given to any media outlet after these two big developments.

PM Modi said in the interview, ‘Our strong manufacturing sector, service sector and MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) sector has enabled India to sign trade agreements with 38 countries on its own terms. Our Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are designed with the aim of increasing market access for small and medium enterprises in textiles, leather, chemicals, handicrafts, jewelery and other sectors.

Referring to the increase in the defense budget, he said that it is the duty of the government to modernize the defense sector as per the current circumstances. He said that his government has made and will continue to make every possible effort to support and strengthen the country’s defense forces.

Reform NDA government’s commitment

PM Modi strongly criticized the economic mismanagement of the UPA government and said that due to this India was unable to negotiate trade agreements with other countries with confidence. He said that during the UPA regime, talks on trade deals used to start and then break down, and despite long talks with many countries, no concrete results were achieved. He said, ‘Reform is the commitment of the NDA government, which it has demonstrated during its rule. The Reform Express has achieved massive progress under the NDA government, but by nature I am never completely satisfied.

Private sector is important for the economic progress of the country

Prime Minister Modi said that the private sector is vital for the next phase of economic transformation in India and urged a decisive response from the private sector. He said the private sector should focus less on saving margins and invest aggressively in research and development, supply chain and quality.

He said, ‘Data centers will become a big source of employment for our youth. We invite data from the entire world to be established in India. He said that there has been a big change in the way people transact through the UPI platform, due to which India has emerged as a digital leader in the world.

The foundation of AI ecosystem is being laid in India

The Prime Minister said India is laying the foundation for a prosperous AI ecosystem by expanding computing capacity and data center infrastructure. He outlined three major reforms priorities for the next decade – structural reforms, deep innovation and simplified governance.

He said that these reforms will provide a strong base to the country’s economy. India is witnessing the largest and most comprehensive infrastructure expansion in its history, which is being designed keeping in mind the needs of the future.

PM Modi said that the capital expenditure for the financial year 2026-27 has been kept at Rs 12.2 lakh crore, which is almost five times more than that of 2013. He said the NDA government is giving priority to spending on productive and long-term development rather than short-term populist policies. He said that India needs to remain strong and prepared at all times, and the government is continuously working in this direction.

Women will lead India’s progress

Prime Minister Modi clearly said that every decision of his government is taken keeping in mind the welfare of women. He said that the welfare of women is the biggest guiding force for the policies and decisions of the government. He also said that he has full confidence that the role of women will be most important in building a developed India and women will lead the progress of the country.
