Prime Minister Modi will flag off the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train, know how much the fare will be

Delhi. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said here on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon flag off India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train between Kolkata and Guwahati. Addressing a press conference, Vaishnav said that the fare of Vande Bharat sleeper train running between Howrah in West Bengal and Guwahati in Assam will be much lower than air travel.

“These services will start in the next 15-20 days, probably around January 18 or 19,” the minister said. We have requested the Prime Minister and everything is clear. I will announce the date in the next two-three days.

Vaishnav told that the fare for Guwahati-Howrah air travel is around Rs 6,000 to 8,000. The minister said, “Third AC fare in Vande Bharat will be around Rs 2,300 including food, Second AC around Rs 3,000 and First AC around Rs 3,600. These fares have been decided keeping the middle class in mind. Assembly elections are to be held in Assam and West Bengal this year.
