Prime Video’s World War II Alternate History TV Show Out on Netflix Today

Netflix subscribers can now watch one of Prime Video‘s hit dystopian drama shows, which starred Alexa Davalos (The Chronicles of Riddick) and Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat). This comes more than six years after the highly rated TV series concluded its four-season run.

What Prime Video show is now available on Netflix?

Beginning today, all four seasons of Prime Video’s The Man in the High Castle are now available to stream on Netflix. The show was based on Philip K. Dick’s acclaimed 1962 alternate history novel of the same name. It centered on an alternate reality in which the Allied Powers had lost World War II. The ensemble cast also included Luke Kleintank, DJ Qualls, Joel de la Fuente, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Rupert Evans, Chelah Horsdal, Brennan Brown, Michael Gaston, and more.

“This series takes a look at what the world might look like had the outcome of World War II turned out differently,” reads the synopsis. “In this dystopian scenario, the Axis powers won the war, leading to the United States being divided into three parts: an area controlled by the Japanese, a Nazi-controlled section, and a buffer zone between the two. Despite the oppression, a new hope emerges when films turn up that seem to show a different world. A woman believes the films contain the key to freedom and is determined to find their mysterious guardian.”

Frank Spotnitz created the series, with Spotnitz serving as the showrunner for Season 1. Executive producers were Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Isa Dick Hackett, Wesley Strick, Daniel Percival, and David Scarpa. Since debuting in 2015, the show received an average approval rating of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes.
