“Tell Me God” :Prithvi Shaw Posts Emotional Insta Story After Being Snubbed From Vijay Hazare Squad

Prithvi Shaw Posts Emotional Insta Story: Prithvi Shaw has, for the first time, given an emphatic expression of frustration with his career going downhill. The 25-year-old Mumbai opener expressed his feelings at being omitted from Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad.

Shaw’s career has been in a dip in recent years. A downturn in form has coincided with fitness and discipline issues, which resulted in him going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction as well. He was dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad.

While he was part of Mumbai’s title-winning Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad, he couldn’t produce scores of note in the competition. And now he’s been excluded from Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare squad as well.

“What more do I have to see?” Prithvi Shaw Posts Emotional Insta Story, Points Out At His Stellar List-A Stats

After being ignored for Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare 50-over competition squad, Shaw posted his List-A stats on Instagram and asked what’s more left for him to see.

The dynamic opener reaffirmed his belief in god and said he will keep faith and promise for a comeback.

“Tell me God, what more do I have to see? If 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I’m not good enough. But I will keep my faith in you and, hopefully, people still believe in me, because I will come back for sure. Om Sai Ram,” Shaw wrote in his Instagram story.

Recently, his Mumbai captain at SMAT, Shreyas Iyer, said nobody can babysit Shaw and suggested the youngster get his work ethic right.

Hailing Shaw as a “god-gifted player,” Shreyas Iyer eulogized the batsman’s talent but asserted the importance of self-discipline.

“We can’t babysit anyone, right? Every professional who is playing at this level, they need to know what they should be doing,” Iyer said. “And he has also done it in the past; it’s not that he hasn’t. He has to focus, he has to sit back, (and) put a thinking cap on, and then figure out himself. He will get the answer by himself. He needs to get his work ethics right, and if he does that, the sky is the limit for him,” Iyer said.
