Priyanka Chopra says she hasn’t fully “arrived” in Hollywood

Actor Priyanka Chopra has said she does not feel she has fully “arrived” in Hollywood, even after nearly a decade of working in the United States.

‘My words were misinterpreted’

In an interview with PTI, the 43-year-old actor clarified that earlier comments about her journey were misunderstood.

“After having worked for so many years… I think what I said was misinterpreted or misquoted by a lot of the press,” she said.

Chopra explained that the remarks in question were from a much older interview when she appeared on the cover of Time’s 100 Most Influential People issue.

“I remember coming into that interview very emotional because something had happened, and when the interviewer asked me what I wanted 10 years from then, I said, ‘I want a legacy,’” she recalled.

Legacy means something different now

The former Miss World said her idea of legacy has evolved, particularly after starting a family. She noted that career milestones alone no longer define her sense of achievement.

Chopra also acknowledged that her Hollywood journey has not followed the conventional trajectory of many global stars. However, she stopped short of describing the experience as negative, instead highlighting the uneven nature of opportunities in international markets.

Balancing ambition and life

The actor, known for films such as Fashion, Dostana and Agneepath, said she now views the ability to balance work with time away from the spotlight as a privilege.

For Chopra, success is no longer just about scale or visibility, but about creating meaningful work while maintaining personal fulfilment.
