New Delhi: The issue of lathi charge on Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) candidates has started heating up in Patna. Congress and RJD are attacking the Bihar government in unison. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday targeted the state government and the Bharatiya Janata Party over the lathicharge on Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) candidates and alleged that the BJP only wants to save its seat.

Candidates claiming that the question papers of the Joint Preliminary Examination (PSC) conducted by BPSC on December 13 were leaked, protested in Patna on Wednesday demanding cancellation of the examination, during which the police resorted to lathicharge.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajeev Mishra had told PTI that policemen had to lathi charge the protesters when some of them broke the barricades and reached the BPSC office and disrupted traffic. Priyanka Gandhi posted on her WhatsApp channel, “Using sticks like this on the youth who are folding their hands is the height of cruelty. Under BJP rule, youth seeking employment are beaten with sticks. Be it Uttar Pradesh, Bihar or Madhya Pradesh, if the youth raise their voice then they are beaten brutally.

He said that it is the job of the governments to think about what will be the future of the youth of the world's youngest country and make policies for them. Priyanka Gandhi alleged, “BJP has only the vision of saving the chair. Whoever asks for employment will be tortured.

After the lathicharge on the candidates who were going to gherao the BPSC office in Patna, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has given a strong reaction on this. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has targeted CM Nitish Kumar by posting some videos on his X handle.

The video of lathi charge on protesting students is becoming increasingly viral. The protesting students were sitting peacefully in response to SP's claim.
