Priyanka Gandhi’s question on Ram temple offering controversy, said- ‘Those who play with faith will have to answer’
Tezzbuzz Desk – Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has termed the case of alleged theft of offerings in Ayodhya’s Ram temple as very serious and has demanded a fair and comprehensive investigation. He said that this matter is related to the faith of crores of devotees and it is very important to fix accountability in this.
While talking to journalists at Wayanad Collectorate in Kerala, Priyanka Gandhi said that people across the country had donated for the construction of Ram Temple with their devotion and faith. In such a situation, if there has been any alleged irregularities in that donation, then it is very sad and shameful. He raised the question that who was responsible for the security of the money which was collected from the public by running a campaign and who is accountable for it.
Priyanka Gandhi said that not only big industrialists but also common people, women and poor families had contributed their savings for the construction of the temple. He said that when money was raised from across the country in the name of faith, it was equally necessary to ensure its security.
He demanded the Uttar Pradesh government to conduct a thorough investigation into this entire matter and said that it should be found out how the alleged irregularity happened, who is responsible for it and what steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future.
It is noteworthy that the case of alleged irregularities in Ram temple offerings came to light on June 7. After this, on the request of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the Uttar Pradesh government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 13. After the SIT submitted its preliminary report to the government, an FIR was registered in this case on June 25 and the police arrested eight accused. All the accused have currently been sent to judicial custody.
The state government says that the matter is being investigated seriously. According to officials, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given clear instructions that if any person is found guilty in the investigation, strict legal action will be taken against him.
