The actress’s family has complained to the police about their daughter being kidnapped. According to reports, accused Harsh Vardhan, owner of Vardhan Enterprises, has been named in the complaint filed by the actor’s family. It has been said in the complaint that Harshvardhan is a resident of Hassan district. He married Chaitra R in 2023 with the consent of both the families. Chaitra is a television and film actress. She lives separately from her husband.
According to reports, everything was going well, but about seven-eight months ago, after domestic disputes, the couple started living separately. However, Harshvardhan remained in Hassan, while Chaitra moved to a rented house on Magadi Road in Bengaluru. The complainant said that during this period Chaitra continued to work as a television serial artist and film actress.
The complaint states that on December 7, 2025, Chaitra told her family that she was going to Mysore for a shooting assignment. However, the family later alleged that this assignment was arranged by Harshvardhan through his friend Kaushik as a pretext. According to the complaint, Kaushik had also given Rs 20,000 as advance to Chaitra for the alleged shoot.
It is alleged that on December 7, at around 8 am, Chaitra was called to Mysore Road metro station in Bengaluru. The complaint alleges that Harshvardhan, Kaushik and another person forced her into a car and kidnapped her via NICE Road and Bidadi. The family said that a person known to Chaitra informed them about the incident. The report further states that the same evening, Harsh Vardhan called Chaitra’s mother and threatened to release Chaitra safely if her one-year-old infant daughter was brought to him.
A similar message was allegedly sent to another relative, asking him to take the one-year-old girl to Arsikere in exchange for Chaitra’s release, the report said. The complainant said that when the family tried to contact Chaitra, her phone was switched off. The complaint also mentioned the delay in approaching the police, stating that Chaitra’s mother was in Tiptur at the time and had returned to Bengaluru before filing the complaint.
