Protest over molestation of sister-in-law not tolerated: Angry brother-in-law bites elder brother’s nose

Bilhaur, Kanpur. Opposing the molestation of his wife proved so costly for the elder brother that he lost his life. The accused absconded after committing the crime in a fit of rage. The seriously injured youth is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The victim woman, resident of a village in Bilhaur Kotwali area, told the police in her complaint that she was sleeping in the room at around 10 pm on Monday night, when her brother-in-law entered inside and started molesting her. When this was protested, the accused resorted to scuffle. When the husband arrived after hearing the commotion and tried to stop the accused, he got enraged. It is alleged that he cut off his elder brother’s nose with his teeth. Seeing the bleeding, he fled from the spot in panic. The injured was taken to the hospital with the help of villagers, where treatment is going on. According to some villagers, the incident of nose cutting took place during a dispute between father and son at night. At present the police is investigating the matter. On the other hand, Kotwal Ashok Kumar Saroj said that after receiving the complaint, further action will be taken after registering the complaint.
