Jammu, September 25 (HS). The Indian Army recently conducted mobile medical patrols in remote villages of Lohakatha and Laam in Rajouri district, providing vital healthcare services in areas where access to medical care is scarce. The initiative was aimed at meeting the immediate healthcare needs of the local population, who often suffer from treatable diseases that can become life-threatening due to the absence of medical facilities.
Equipped with essential medical supplies and services, the mobile medical patrol provided on-the-spot care, basic health checkups, treatment for common ailments and distributed essential medicines. The team also focused on preventive healthcare, vaccinations and raising awareness about hygiene, nutrition and disease prevention. Special attention was paid to vulnerable sections of the population, such as children and the elderly, to ensure they received timely and appropriate medical care. This proactive approach helped reduce the risk of complications arising from untreated health problems, especially in these isolated areas.
Apart from addressing the immediate healthcare requirements, the Mobile Medical Patrol played a vital role in building trust and goodwill between the Indian Army and the local communities. A total of 54 villagers including 24 men, 19 women and 11 children benefited from the Mobile Medical Patrol which underlines the Army’s dedication to improving the quality of life in these remote areas.
