PSL: Naqvi hit back on the question of empty field, spewed venom against India

New Delhi. A statement by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has become a topic of discussion in the cricket world. When asked about the empty stadium in Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026), he claimed that there is a petrol crisis in India, which has created a controversy.

Actually, the matches of PSL 2026 are being held without spectators. When questions were raised on this, Naqvi said that there is no fuel crisis in Pakistan, but there is a shortage of petrol in India and there are long queues at petrol pumps there.

  • However, his statement received a sharp reaction on social media. Many users called it baseless and said that there is no such situation in India. Till April 2026, petrol supply in India has been normal and there has been no news of long queues anywhere.

    Naqvi retracted his own statement

This lie of Naqvi has come at a time when a few weeks ago he himself had cited the fuel crisis in Pakistan as the reason behind the ban on entry of spectators in PSL. He had said that due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East, there is a shortage of fuel in the country, hence this decision was taken to limit the movement of people.

On March 22, he also apologized to the fans for this decision and said that the government has appealed to the people to travel less. In such a situation, it would not be right to allow thousands of people to gather in the stadium. But now his latest statement has changed the whole story. On one hand, PSL matches are still being held in empty stadiums, on the other hand, PCB Chief is talking about a crisis in India. He is being criticized on social media for this contradiction. Users are raising questions that if there is no crisis in Pakistan, then why are the matches being played in empty stadiums. PSL 2026 is currently in its final stages. The tournament will resume after a one-day break on April 14 and will continue till May 3.
