Public is not being heard at the police station level, it is not good for the police chiefs – DIG

settlement Dinesh Kumar P. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Basti Zone, Basti gave the following instructions to everyone in the crime seminar organized by Superintendent of Police Basti in the Police Line Auditorium. It has been almost 13 days since I took charge. The appointment period of all the gazetted officers and police station chiefs appointed here has exceeded 4-5 months. In this short period, I have found that there is a need for further improvement in the work of the police station officers. The incidents of suicide are increasing in the district. A meaningful effort should be made to stop this by making everyone alert and aware.

To control crime and criminals, any negligence and laxity at any level should be taken seriously. Police officers who are negligent in their work should be warned. If they are not improving, then action should be considered against them. A large number of victims from different police station areas are presenting before me in the area office and giving complaint applications.

It is clear from this that negligence is being done in hearing the cases of public persons at the police station level. Which is objectionable. If a victim is not heard from at the police station level then he goes to the higher authorities. The action has to be taken from the police station level only. Therefore, it would be better if all the police station incharges get the problems of the victims resolved at the primary level and the victims will not have to go to the higher authorities. The helpless and suffering persons coming to the police station should be helped with a sense of welfare and fair action should be taken against them. .

Crime control in the area is my top priority. Any negligence or laxity at any level in this will not be forgivable. All police station heads should ensure that they immediately report incidents to the concerned authorities. No attempt should be made to hide or suppress any kind of information. Cases of crimes related to women should not be kept pending unnecessarily and prompt legal action should be taken. Crime and criminals should be effectively controlled by 100% disclosure of registered crimes. .

The accountability of officers who are incapable of controlling crime and criminals will be fixed. There should be strict control on crime and criminals. A lenient attitude should not be adopted against the accused, strict action should be taken against them. Just and fair action should be taken with sensitive behavior towards public persons and victims. The complaints received through IGRS should be disposed of in a quality manner.

Complete details should be mentioned in revenue related matters. Matters related to public hearing and IGRS should be taken seriously. Property related disputes should be resolved by coordinating with the revenue team. Under Operation Conviction, police station chiefs nominate crime advocates and effectively defend the identified cases by providing maximum punishment to the accused. Efforts should be made. Many such incidents have happened where CCTV cameras Not engaged.

Therefore, meaningful efforts should be made to install as many cameras as possible with public cooperation under Operation Trinetra. DG Circular No. 48/ issued by Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh on 20-12-2024 regarding participation of youth and social media influencers as 'Digital Warriors' in Uttar Pradesh Police's campaign against fake news and cyber crime. 2024 has been released. As per the instructions given in the circular, Digital Warrior has to be created at the police station and district level and people have to be made aware about cyber related crimes through 'Digital Warrior'.

Therefore, everyone is expected to take necessary action as per the instructions given in the said circular. While giving information regarding action on social media platforms like X, Facebook, Instagram etc., complete details should be mentioned. Byte or information will be given by the area officer on the incidents happening in the district. The Superintendent of Police should have complete control over UP-112. In this, special attention should be paid by the Superintendent of Police to the availability, discipline and turnout of the police personnel appointed at the duty place. The cases displayed on the portal ITSSO related to Women and POCSO Act should be disposed of within the stipulated time.

Circle officers should maintain orderly rooms in the police stations and timely and quality disposal of pending investigations should be done. Investigations should not be kept pending unnecessarily. Further improvements should be brought in the preventive action in the district. While taking preventive action, preventive action should be taken after looking at the past criminal history. The upcoming Makar Sankranti festival is a big and important festival of Purvanchal. By making prior assessment in this regard, all the arrangements should be made on time on this occasion so that no untoward incident happens. Similarly, whenever any festival comes in the district, it should be assessed and reviewed in advance and all necessary arrangements should be made in time, which will be helpful in preventing such incidents.

Special caution and alertness should be taken during religious events. If there is a possibility of a crowd of more than a thousand in any program in the district, then the Additional Superintendent of Police must visit the venue because a small carelessness can lead to a major incident. To encourage the police officers and employees doing good work. Award should be given. In the said seminar, Omprakash Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Basti and all area officers, all inspectors in charge and police station incharges, all branch incharges, traffic incharges, chief fire officer, counter inspector and others were present. Officers and employees were present.
