Public transport will be limited for Delhiites on Holi, know the new timing of metro-bus-train here

New Delhi: As the festival of Holi approaches, people start preparing for the journey along with colors. Some are going to their village and some are planning to meet relatives. If you are also going to travel by metro, bus or train on the festival, then it is important to know that this time the timetable of public transport in Delhi-NCR has been changed. In such a situation, you should plan your journey keeping in mind the changes given below.

Namo Bharat service starts in the evening

On the day of Holi, Namo Bharat train running between Delhi and Meerut will not operate in the morning. According to NCRTC, train service will remain closed from morning to 5 pm. On normal days, this service starts at 6 am, but this decision has been taken in view of the possibility of less number of passengers on Holi. The train will run again from 5 pm and the service will continue till 10 pm. Therefore, passengers who are thinking of traveling in the morning will have to change their plans.

Metro will run after 2:30 pm

Delhi Metro will also remain closed for a few hours on the day of Holi. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said that metro service will remain closed on all corridors till 2.30 pm. After this, metro operations will start normally from 2:30 pm. This decision has been taken so that metro employees can also celebrate the festival with their families. Passengers have been advised to plan their journey according to this time.

Changes in bus service also

The service of DTC buses in Delhi will also be affected on the day of Holi. Buses will not run in the first shift. Buses will be taken on the roads after 2 pm. However, initially only 25 percent buses will be run. If the number of passengers on any route is high then additional trips will be made as per the need. This arrangement has been made keeping in mind both the convenience and safety of the passengers.

Special preparation of railways

In view of the huge crowd of people returning home on Holi, Railways has made special arrangements. In the last few days, about 14 lakh passengers have traveled by special trains from various stations of Delhi. Chief spokesperson of Northern Railway, Himanshu Sheikh Upadhyay said that 22 special trains will be run on March 3 also.

Earlier, 22-22 special trains were operated on Sunday and Monday also. Special security arrangements have been made at the stations so that passengers do not face any kind of trouble. This time an increase is being seen in the number of passengers as compared to last year.
