Puducherry: Amit Shah attacks Rahul Gandhi in Karaik rally, accuses him of ‘politics of lies’
digital desk- Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a big rally of Bharatiya Janata Party in Karaikal, Puducherry, made a scathing attack on Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Shah alleged that Rahul Gandhi and the opposition have started a new tradition of “telling lies every day, speaking loudly and repeating them again and again”. He said that the people of the country have now recognized the “lie factory” of the opposition. Amit Shah accused the opposition of spreading confusion regarding trade deals and free trade agreements (FTA). He said that the trade agreements signed with the European Union, England and America under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are in the national interest. According to Shah, complete protection of the interests of farmers, cattle herders and fishermen has been ensured in these agreements. He challenged Rahul Gandhi from the stage and said that he should look carefully at the nuances of these agreements, because this will not cause any harm to the farmers of the country.
‘Modi government will be formed again in 2029’
In the rally, Amit Shah claimed that in the year 2029 also, the Bharatiya Janata Party led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will be formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said that the opposition’s turn is not going to come. Referring to the tenure of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Shah alleged that farmers had suffered losses due to some global agreements signed during that period, whereas the present government has given 100 percent protection to farmers and cattle herders.
Corruption allegations against Congress
Amit Shah also attacked the former Congress government of Puducherry, citing the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). He alleged that there were irregularities in the development fund of Rs 15 thousand crore during the tenure of former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy. Shah said that earlier the Gandhi family used to take decisions about Puducherry from Delhi, but now under the NDA government, the Union Territory is taking its own decisions.
Report card of ‘double engine government’ soon
The Home Minister said that the NDA government in Puducherry has given political stability and corruption-free administration. He indicated that the report card of the “double engine government” will soon be presented to the public. During the rally, Amit Shah expressed regret for not being able to address in Tamil language and praised the historical heritage of Puducherry. He said that Shri Aurobindo had dreamed of making India a world leader here and the NDA government is moving in the same direction.
