Puducherry Election: Congress-BJP supporters clash in Puducherry; Enthusiastic voting for 296 seats in three states

Puducherry Election : Assam, Kerala and Puducherry are going to vote for assembly elections today. Voting is going on for a total of 296 seats. Till 1 pm, 59.63% polling was recorded in Assam, 49.70% in Kerala and 56.83% in Puducherry. In Puducherry, a clash broke out between Congress and BJP supporters at a polling station in Mannadipet. The police lathi-charged the crowd.

Authorities on Thursday detained seven people in connection with the election violence in two places in Assam. After polling started in the morning, minor clashes broke out at several polling booths, in which people suffered minor injuries. We got information of clash between two groups in Tamulpur last night, police immediately reached the spot and tried to bring the crowd under control. Four persons have been arrested from the spot. In another incident two to three members of a political party were attacked in Shivsagar, we have detained three people from there. Akhil Gogoi, who is trying to re-contest from Shivsagar constituency, alleged.

BJP candidate Kushal Dowari was behind this incident. In several posts on social media, Gogoi claimed that two people were injured and their vehicles damaged in the attack. Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member Hanrama Mohilari said a detailed investigation would reveal the cause of the conflict in Tamulpur. Now the situation is normal. We are monitoring the situation and have put in place adequate security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.

Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar voted in Thiruvananthapuram. He is contesting from Nemom constituency. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan casts his vote at RC Amala Basic Upper Primary School in Kannur. Union Minister and BJP MP Suresh Gopi voted in Brissur. In Kerala, former Defense Minister and Congress leader A. K. Antony cast his vote in Thiruvananthapuram. Speaking to the media, he said, the people of Kerala do not like the BJP. There has been mismanagement in the state for 10 years. So, this time the government will change.
