Pulse polio campaign launched in Khajni, CMO Dr. Rajesh Jha administered ‘Do Boond Zindagi Ki’ to the children.

Khajni, Gorakhpur. Under the National Pulse Polio Campaign, the campaign was grandly launched from Khajni Community Health Center on Sunday. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rajesh Jha started the campaign by giving two drops of anti-polio medicine to the children. During this, he said that providing medicines to every child to prevent serious diseases like polio is the top priority of the health department. He appealed to all the parents to compulsorily give polio vaccination to their children up to five years of age.

Took stock of the arrangements after inspecting the sorting booth

After the launch of the campaign, CMO visited Khajni block area and inspected Chhatai polio booth. He took information about the progress of the campaign from the health workers present at the booth and took stock of the arrangements. During the inspection, he instructed that no child between 0 to 5 years should be deprived of polio medicine. He said that along with booths, the work of giving medicines to children should also be done with full responsibility by going door-to-door.

Necessary instructions given to health workers

CMO Dr. Rajesh Jha said that participation of the health department as well as the general public is very important in eradicating polio. He called upon all health workers, Asha and Anganwadi workers to make the campaign successful with full dedication and vigilance. He said that reaching every child will be the biggest measure of success of this campaign.

PHC in-charge appealed to parents

Medical Officer in-charge Dr. Pradeep Tripathi said that necessary arrangements have been ensured at all the polio booths of Khajni area. Teams of trained health workers are deployed and the campaign is being conducted as per the microplan. He appealed to the parents to take their children up to five years of age to the nearest polio booth and administer two drops of polio vaccine.

During the program, Health Education Officer J.O. Ahmed, I.O. Ashok Singh, A.R.O. Ajit Yadav, L.T. Many officers and employees of the health department including Virendra Singh, Prashant Dubey were present. Everyone jointly appealed to the people to give “two drops of life” to every child to strengthen the resolve of polio-free India.
