What do defense experts and intelligence agencies say?
The Pakistan government has accused Indian intelligence agencies for these targeted killings without any concrete evidence, which New Delhi has always completely rejected. International and defense experts believe that there could be two main reasons behind these killings;
- Mutual enmity between terrorist organizations: Mutual gang war between organizations like Lashkar, Jaish and Hizbul over money, weapons and supremacy.
- ISI’s ‘Use and Throw’ policy: Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI itself is removing those terrorists who are no longer of any use to them or on whom international pressure (like FATF) has increased too much.
