Direct flight service to Bagdogra in West Bengal has started from Pune airport. This air service has made travel between West India and North East India stronger and faster.
Pune – Bagdogra flight is operated by Air India Express. The flight will operate five days a week except Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flight will reach Pune at 12:25 PM and depart Pune for Bagdogra at 1:15 PM. This is the first direct flight from Pune to Bagdogra (Pune–Bagdogra Flight). The city of Bagdogra is considered an important gateway to North Bengal and North East India.

Officials said the new route will make travel easier for students, businessmen and tourists and will also help boost tourism and trade. This is part of the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) efforts to improve regional connectivity and better connect underserved areas.
In this regard, Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol said that this new route will bring Northeast India closer to West India and will help increase business, travel and cultural exchange.
The inaugural ceremony saw the formal transfer of boarding passes to passengers, and the flight commenced. Officials said the new service is a symbol of the continued expansion of India’s aviation network under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Pune-Bagdogra aviation will be important for development, tourism and connectivity and it will further connect different regions of the country, officials said.
