Justice received in 55 days: 65-year-old Bhimrao Kamble, convicted of rape and murder of a 4-year-old girl, was hanged, fast-track court gave the verdict.
Pune: In the famous Nasrapur rape and murder case related to Pune district of Maharashtra, the special fast-track court has given a big verdict and sentenced the accused Bhimrao Kamble to death. This heinous crime against a four-year-old girl had shocked the entire state. In this case, which was conducted under various sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Justice Code, after the completion of the hearing, the court sentenced the accused to death.

The matter remained in discussion due to fast hearing
This case is being counted among the fastest disposed cases of Maharashtra in recent years. After the incident of crime, the police completed the investigation quickly and within just 15 days filed a charge sheet of about 1200 pages in the court. After this, daily in-camera hearings were held in the special court, due to which the trial process progressed rapidly.
The court accepted the chain of evidence as strong
Special Judge S.R. On June 25, the Salunkhe court had convicted the accused Bhimrao Kamble of kidnapping, rape and murder. The court in its judgment said that the circumstantial and forensic evidence presented by the prosecution are interconnected and form a strong case against the accused. While determining the punishment, the prosecution had demanded death penalty keeping this case in the rarest of rare category. The defense had appealed for leniency on the basis of the age and other circumstances of the accused.

There was anger in the entire area after the incident
This matter came to light on May 1, 2026. A four-year-old girl, who was playing outside her family’s house in Nasrapur area, suddenly went missing. Later, during police investigation, the accused was identified and taken into custody. After the incident, there was huge anger among the local people and protests took place at many places. Considering the seriousness of the case, the police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The investigating agencies took swift action by collecting technical, forensic and other evidence. The state government had also assured to hear the case in a fast-track court.
The decision came after the testimony of 55 witnesses.
During the trial, the court recorded statements of 55 witnesses. The final arguments of the prosecution and defense were completed on 21 June. After this, the court found the accused guilty on June 25 and sentenced him on June 29 and ordered him to be given death penalty.
This case will be recorded as an important example in the recent judicial history of Maharashtra due to its speedy investigation, speedy trial and short verdict. After the court’s decision, the victim’s family expressed confidence in the judiciary and welcomed the decision.
