Punjab: AAP MP’s demand from PM – Not ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, it should be named ‘Sahibzade Martyrdom Day’ – Keep an eye on every movement of the media world.

Punjab News: The government of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has once again taken on the BJP government at the Centre. MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding to change the name of ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to ‘Sahibzade Martyrdom Day’. The Punjab government says that the central government is ignoring the religious sentiments of the Sikh community and is not giving due respect to the glorious history of Punjab. This issue once again proves that the Aam Aadmi Party government is ready to fight on every front for the identity of Punjab and the respect of Sikhism. MP Seechewal has made it clear in his letter that the martyrdom of the four Sahibzadas should be honored at the national level. He wrote, “Keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the Sikh community, the day should be named ‘Sahibzade Martyrdom Day’, which appropriately reflects the sacrifice of the entire Sikh community on the martyrdom anniversary.” The Punjab Government has taken up this matter seriously and has urged the Central Government to consider the petitions of Punjab and Sikh organizations sensitively. This step shows that the Mann government will not compromise in protecting the cultural and religious identity of Punjab.

The Punjab Government has taken several concrete steps in the last two years to promote Sikhism and Punjabi culture. The government has launched special schemes for the development of Gurudwaras, preservation of historical sites and encouraging religious tourism. Apart from this, many initiatives have also been taken to promote Punjabi language, provide employment to youth and improve health services. The Aam Aadmi Party government has instilled new confidence in Punjab through free electricity, better education and corruption-free administration. The people of Punjab have also supported the government on this issue. Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Amritsar, said, “For the first time, Bhagwant Mann’s government is respecting our sentiments. Earlier governments used to come only for votes, but this government is fighting for our respect and rights.” Simranjeet Kaur, a teacher from Ludhiana, said, “It is not just a matter of name, it is a question of our identity. We want the central government to take it seriously.”

Political analysts believe that this issue reflects the growing tension between the Center and Punjab. The BJP government is accused of looking at the issues of Punjab through a political lens and not showing interest in solving the real problems of the state. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party government has proved that it is ready to face anyone for the public interest and respect. This attitude is increasing the confidence of the people of Punjab towards the government and may change the political equation in the coming times. The Punjab government has made it clear that it does everything keeping the interests of the people in mind. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, “This fight is not just for a name, but for the honor of Punjab and the identity of the Sikh community. And it is hoped that the central government will soon show sensitivity on this issue and take the right decision.”
