The call of workers will reach Delhi Darbar! 10 lakh letters will be sent to PM, AAP’s front against MNREGA
Punjab News: In Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party has opened a big front against the central government. The issue is the change in MNREGA law, which has given sleepless nights to lakhs of workers. The Mann government has taken a historic step by taking this fight from the streets to the House. In the special session of the Assembly, AAP MLAs presented letters written by more than 10 lakh MNREGA workers. Now these lakhs of letters will be delivered directly to the Prime Minister, so that the rulers sitting in Delhi can feel the pain of the poor.
The party spokesperson has clarified that the Center has changed the name and form of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act to the Developed India Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Act. The voice of workers from every corner of Punjab has been raised in protest against this. In these letters, not only the demands but also the struggle of those families who are dependent on MNREGA for two meals a day are written. The presence of MNREGA workers themselves in the assembly has made this movement even more sharp.
From files to PM’s table
The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has decided that this voice of the workers will not remain buried in the files of the Assembly. The government will hand over this bundle of 10 lakh letters directly to the Prime Minister. Its main objective is to make the Central Government aware of the ground reality. Workers of Punjab have been struggling with serious problems like delay in payment and non-availability of work for a long time. The government wants these problems to be solved immediately. This letter campaign is a concrete effort to awaken the central government and take the voice of the poor to the highest corridors of power.

Work crisis and delays
Party spokesperson said that in many areas, workers are not getting work on time, due to which the unemployment crisis is deepening. The biggest concern is regarding MNREGA funds, which are not being released on time by the Central Government. Due to stoppage of funds, the work of the scheme is being affected and it is directly impacting the livelihood of poor families. Aam Aadmi Party has called it a strategy to put pressure on the Center so that funds can be released. The party has reiterated that it is a true well-wisher of the poor and this fight for their rights will be fought with full strength.
