Punjab becomes the first state in the country to provide cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has appealed to the people of the state to beware of confusion and misinformation being spread regarding the state government’s ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana’. Through a video message, the Chief Minister clarified that this scheme is completely in public interest and its objective is to provide cashless and quality health care to every family. Along with this, he has also claimed that Punjab has become the first state in the country to provide cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh.

Cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh for every family

The Chief Minister said that this scheme is the first initiative of its kind in the country, under which every family of Punjab can get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh annually. The special focus of this scheme is on the weaker and middle class families of the society, who have to bear heavy financial burden at the time of illness.

Big step towards free healthcare in India

Bhagwant Mann called it a historic achievement for Punjab. He said that Punjab has become the first state in the country to implement free and cashless health facilities on a large scale. This will not only make treatment accessible to common people, but will also provide them relief from debt and financial crisis.

How to register for health card

Under the scheme, all government employees, pensioners and common citizens are eligible for health cards. The registration process has been kept easy. People can apply at Suvidha Kendras, Common Service Centers or online through Aadhar Card and Voter ID. The government’s aim is that no family should be deprived of this facility.

Private hospitals also included in the scheme

The Chief Minister said that a large number of private hospitals have been included in the panel under the scheme. The government has fixed rates for about 2,600 diseases and treatment procedures. Hospitals will have to provide treatment at these rates and the government will make the payment directly to the hospitals.

Not a single penny will be charged from patients

Bhagwant Mann bluntly said that the scheme is completely cashless. No fee will be charged from the patient for the entire process of treatment, investigation, medicines and discharge from the hospital. If any hospital demands money, strict and exemplary action will be taken against it.

Warning to those spreading rumors

The Chief Minister alleged that some anti-Punjab forces are trying to defame the scheme. He says that the purpose of such rumors is to keep people away from this public welfare scheme. He appealed to the public not to believe any kind of misleading information.

Appeal to the public to take advantage of the scheme

In the end, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that ‘Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana’ is getting appreciation in the country and abroad. He appealed to the people of Punjab to come forward and take maximum benefit of this scheme and participate in building a healthy, safe and self-reliant Punjab.
