Punjab Kings registered an impressive five-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in an Indian Premier League clash in Chennai on Friday, successfully chasing down a challenging target of 210.
Leading from the front, skipper Shreyas Iyer scored a brisk 50 off just 29 balls to guide Punjab Kings to 210 for 5 in 18.4 overs, sealing their second consecutive win of the season. His composed innings anchored the chase despite early pressure.
Earlier, CSK posted a strong 209 for 5, powered by a fine 73 off 43 balls from young batter Ayush Mhatre. He shared a crucial 96-run stand with Ruturaj Gaikwad (28), setting a solid platform.
Quickfire contributions from Sarfaraz Khan (32 off 12) and an unbeaten 45 from Shivam Dube helped CSK post a competitive total, but it ultimately proved insufficient against a confident Punjab chase.
