Punjab News: Bhagwant Singh Mann has demanded from the Central Government to ensure adequate and continuous supply of petrol, diesel and DAP fertilizer. He says that Punjab is fully prepared for wheat harvesting at this time, hence it is important that there should not be any kind of shortage. The Chief Minister said that this year there is a possibility of production of about 140 lakh metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab. To harvest such large quantities of crops and then transport the grains from one place to another, tractors, trolleys, harvesters and trucks are used extensively.
This appeal was made to the people
All these require petrol and diesel. Therefore, if there is any reduction in the supply of oil, the entire process may be affected. CM Mann appealed to the people that there is no need to panic nor should there be any kind of hoarding. According to the Chief Minister, at present there is 12 to 14 days’ stock of petrol and diesel available in the state, while about 6 days’ stock of LPG is available. This is considered adequate as per the normal situation and the supply is continuing continuously.

The Chief Minister also said that the country also has sufficient reserves of petrol, diesel and LPG. Therefore, common people do not need to worry. He warned that strict action will be taken against those who indulge in black marketing or hoarding.
Delivery also increased
According to the data, the delivery of LPG cylinders is also being done at a fast pace. Recently 71,000 refill requests were received, out of which 69,000 have been fulfilled. There is no possibility of any kind of lockdown in the state and all work is going on normally.
301 LPG cylinders seized
The Chief Minister also said that the government conducted investigations at several places, where 301 LPG cylinders were seized. It is clear from this that the government is keeping an eye on the situation and will not tolerate any kind of disturbance.
What did CM Mann say on the role of Punjab?
Talking about the role of Punjab, he said that the state has always been ahead in meeting the food needs of the country. Even at this time, Punjab is ready to deliver 41 lakh metric tonnes of wheat from its warehouses. Apart from this, it has the capacity to provide 181 lakh metric tonnes of wheat and 139 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this year.
Requested for fertilizer supply from central government
The Chief Minister said that in the coming time, sowing of paddy will start from June 1, hence availability of DAP fertilizer is very important. He requested the Central Government to supply fertilizer on time and in adequate quantity. Apart from this, he suggested that the delivery time of LPG cylinders in rural areas should be reduced. At present people there have to wait for 45 days, whereas in cities this time is 25 days. There is a need to close this gap.

Referring to the meeting held with the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister said that he raised all the important issues related to Punjab. He also asked the Center to make strong diplomatic efforts at the international level, so that the country does not face shortage of essential resources. In the end he said that Punjab will stand with the country in every situation and will continue to play its role in ensuring food security.
