Punjab IAS reshuffle reallocates key administrative roles

The Punjab Government has implemented a major reshuffle within its Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre, reallocating significant responsibilities among senior officers and assigning several additional charges to improve administrative efficiency.

Chief Secretary KAP Sinha issued orders on Saturday detailing the changes. Manvesh Singh Sidhu (2004 batch), who currently holds the positions of Administrative Secretary, Labour; Secretary, Revenue and Rehabilitation; and Commissioner, Roopnagar Division, has been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director of the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB), replacing Girish Dayalan.

Girish Dayalan (2011 batch) has been transferred from his roles as Registrar, Cooperative Societies; Managing Director of The Punjab State Cooperative Bank; PIDB; and MARKFED to the position of Special Secretary, Jails.

Sanyam Aggarwal (2012 batch), currently Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare; Chief Executive Officer of the State Health Agency; and Nodal Officer for the anti-drug campaign, has been entrusted with the additional responsibilities of Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab, and Managing Director of The Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd., succeeding Dayalan.

Vishesh Sarangal (2013 batch), Special Secretary, Good Governance and Information Technology, has received the additional charge of Managing Director, MARKFED.

Sakshi Sawhney (2014 batch) has been appointed Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare. She will continue to serve as Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Punjab, and Chief Administrator of the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA).

Preeti Yadav (2014 batch), Special Secretary, Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, has been assigned the additional charge of Special Secretary, Expenditure (Finance Department).

The Personnel Department has instructed all concerned officers to assume their new assignments immediately. Departments have also been directed to make internal arrangements to manage workloads arising from the posts vacant following these transfers.
