Punjab Kings head coach Ricky Ponting gives permission, Marco Jansen will join the team late

New Delhi. Before IPL, big news has come out from the camp of Punjab Kings. Team head coach Ricky Ponting has given permission to South African all-rounder Marco Jansen to join the team late. In fact, after the T20 World Cup ended, many players faced difficulties in returning from India, due to which even Yansen could not join the team on time.

According to the information, some players from South Africa and West Indies were stuck in India for more than a week. The reason for this was limited flights at big airports like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which is believed to be the effect of the ongoing tension in West Asia. West Indies coach Darren Sammy and South Africa’s star batsman David Miller had also expressed their displeasure on social media regarding this delay.

Now the update is that Marco Jansen will join the team on March 26, while coach Ponting and most of the foreign players will join the camp on March 21. Afghanistan’s all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai will join the team on March 23, although the current situation in his country also remains challenging.

Last season, the pair of Ricky Ponting and captain Shreyas Iyer had taken Punjab Kings to the final, which was the team’s first final since 2014. In such a situation, this time also a big performance is expected from the team.
