Punjab News: The Punjab Cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has approved many important and public-friendly decisions. The objective of these decisions is to provide better health services, modern education system, strong infrastructure and relief to the common people in the state.

Medical college and hospital will be built in Laharagaga

The Punjab government has approved giving more than 19 acres of land for setting up a medical college and hospital in Lehragaga.
Initially this medical college will have a 220-bed hospital and 50 MBBS seats. It will be expanded to 400 beds and 100 MBBS seats in the coming eight years.
On one hand, this will provide better treatment to the local people, while on the other hand, Punjab will become a center of medical education.

Historic step in digital education: New Digital Open University Policy

the cabinet Punjab Private Digital Open University Policy-2026 Permission has been granted. This is the first such comprehensive policy in the country, under which private institutions will be able to establish completely digital universities.
Now students will be able to complete their degree through mobile or laptop while sitting at home. These degrees will be completely valid and will be as per UGC and AICTE standards.

Working youth and students will benefit greatly

This policy will provide great benefit to those students who cannot go to college regularly due to job, family or other reasons.
Now it will be possible to study without changing the city, without hostel expenses and without daily commuting expenses. This will save both time and money.

Relief to plot allottees: Amnesty policy deadline extended

Government for plot allottees Amnesty Policy-2025 The period has been extended to 31 March 2026.
Now the defaulted allottee can apply again and regularize his property by depositing the outstanding amount within the stipulated time.

GMADA property prices will be reduced

The Cabinet has decided to rationalize the prices of various properties of GMADA.
Now the reserve prices will be decided on the basis of the reports of independent appraisers, which will provide relief to the common people in purchasing plots and properties.

Approval to extract sand from Satluj for road projects

NHAI has been given permission to extract sand from Sutlej river to speed up the Ludhiana-Ropar road project.
This permission has been given at fixed rates and for a limited time so that the construction work can be completed on time.

Decision to protect the interests of employees

The Cabinet has approved to accommodate the employees of Baba Heera Singh Bhattal Engineering Institute on deputation in government departments.
With this decision, the jobs of the employees will be safe and their future will be secure.
