Chief Minister Health Scheme will start from January 22, cashless treatment up to ₹ 10 lakh

Punjab News: Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh announced that the Bhagwant Mann government will provide free Chief Minister Health Card to every household in the state. Under this scheme, cashless treatment up to ₹ 10 lakh will be started from January 22, 2026, so that people will be able to get better health services without any financial burden.

Everything is free from card to treatment
The Health Minister clarified that the entire process from making health card to treatment will be absolutely free. No person or agency will be allowed to charge even a single rupee at any level. If anyone is found asking for money, strict action will be taken against him.

Government strict on fake recovery
Dr. Balbir Singh said that complaints of illegal extortion had come to light in Muktsar and Mansa districts, where some people were charging Rs 50 in the name of making health cards. The government took immediate action and suspended the culprits, canceled their licenses and registered an FIR.

Volunteers will reach door to door
He told that for registration, youth club volunteers will go door-to-door and distribute tokens. After getting the token, people will only have to go to the designated center with Aadhar card and Voter ID, where their health card will be made free of cost.

Zero tolerance on corruption
The Health Minister warned that the government will not tolerate looting in the name of any welfare scheme. Strict legal action will be taken against those trying to cheat or mislead people.

Pledge for transparent and public benefit health service
Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann government is fully committed to providing transparent, free and accessible health services. Mukhyamantri Swasthya Yojana is for the common people and it will be implemented in a simple and reliable manner.
