Punjab News: Minister Sanjeev Arora’s petition on ED arrest in High Court, the minister declared himself innocent

Punjab News: A big legal and political matter is currently under discussion in Punjab, in which the name of state minister Sanjeev Arora has come to the fore. This case is said to be related to the investigation of allegations related to money laundering. This entire matter is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED. ED took action in this case and arrested Sanjeev Arora, after which the matter reached the court. Now the minister has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, calling his arrest wrong and demanding his release.

What did Sanjeev Arora say during the hearing?

During the hearing, Minister Sanjeev Arora, while presenting his views in the court, said that this matter is not only legal but is also taking a political colour. He said that a kind of conflict situation is prevailing at the political level in Punjab and due to this, action is being taken against them. He also said that he is only on one side and injustice is being done to him. In the court, he demanded release from his custody so that he could present his case properly and the entire truth of the case could come out.

All eyes on further hearing

The issue gained further attention when the minister also said that in some other cases, some people have got relief or protection, while they are being treated differently. However, this is part of their argument in the court and the final decision has to be taken by the court only. In the legal process, both the parties are heard and only then a decision is taken. For this reason, this case is still being considered in its initial stage and everyone’s eyes are on the further hearing.

What did ED say?

On the other hand, the investigating agency ED says that this case is related to a serious economic crime and it is being investigated as per the rules. The job of ED is to investigate the money transactions in such cases, so that if money has been earned illegally, its information can come to light. The role of investigating agencies is to ensure that action is taken as per law and correct procedure is followed in case of any kind of financial irregularity.

The final decision is in the hands of the court

Now the most important thing in this whole matter is that the final decision is in the hands of the court. The court will decide what further steps should be taken only after hearing the arguments of both the parties. It is too early to say whether which side is right or wrong, because the matter is in the judicial process. At present this case is in discussion from both political and legal point of view and its hearing is being considered very important in the coming times.
