On this occasion, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that he did whatever could be done in the interest of the party for five years. He also thanked the party workers and leadership for their support. Now there will be new membership and the party will be reorganized.

According to a report, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the party's membership campaign will run from 20 January to 20 February 2025. For this, the party has set a target of making 25 lakh new members. The new president of the party will be elected on March 1. Preparations for this too are in full swing. Now it remains to be seen who becomes the new head of the party after Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Party spokesperson also confirmed

Shiromani Akali Dal spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema also confirmed the acceptance of Sukhbir Singh Badal's resignation. Daljit Singh Cheema said, 'Sukhbir Singh Badal wished that the working committee (of Shiromani Akali Dal) should accept his resignation, which he had given on November 18 (2024). The working committee has accepted his resignation.

SAD working committee accepted resignation

Shiromani Akali Dal's working president Balwinder Singh Bhundar had called a meeting of the party working committee at 3 pm today at the party headquarters in Chandigarh. In this meeting itself, there was a long discussion on the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal. Ultimately the SAD Working Committee approved the resignation of Sukhbir Badal. Membership campaign and other important issues were also discussed in the meeting.
