Education revolution of Mann government in Punjab, 1700+ students of government schools will prepare for IIT, NIT and AIIMS for free

Punjab News: Education Minister of Punjab S. Harjot Singh Bains said that the winter residential coaching camps organized under the Punjab Academic Coaching for Excellence (PACE) program run by the Punjab Government has given a strong opportunity to the meritorious students of government schools to move ahead. Through these camps, high quality competitive exam coaching was provided to more than 1700 students.

what is the purpose

The Education Minister said that the aim of this initiative is to prepare students of government schools for the top educational institutions of the country like IIT, NIT and AIIMS. Three residential centers Bathinda, Ludhiana and S.A.S. A total of 1728 students participated in Nagar (Mohali). Training was given to 601 students in Bathinda centre, 573 in Ludhiana and 554 in Mohali, in which a large number of girl students also participated.

How is this initiative?

Harjot Singh further said that this initiative was taken by Chief Minister Shri. It reflects the thinking of the government under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann, in which the priority is to provide equal opportunities to every student irrespective of his social or economic background. The enthusiasm received by Pace Winter Camps proves that the children of government schools also have immense talent.

How were the students selected?

The selection of students for the camps was done through a completely transparent and fair process. Selection was done on the basis of mock test, academic performance, conceptual understanding and recommendations of teachers. Along with this, adopting an inclusive policy, 20 percent seats were reserved for general government schools and drop-year students.

Renowned coaching experts like Physicswala were present.

In these camps, experts from renowned coaching institutes like Physicswala, Vidya Mandir and Avanti Fellows provided training as per JEE and NEET pattern. Special attention was also given to doubt-clearing sessions, one-to-one mentoring, stress management and career guidance. Safe accommodation, nutritious food and medical facilities provided a conducive environment for students to study.

Results of examinations will be better – Education Minister

The Education Minister expressed confidence that this training will play an important role in improving the examination results of class 11th and 12th students. He said that last year a large number of students from government schools achieved success in examinations like JEE and NEET, which shows the success of this initiative.
