Punjab Schools: Safety of school children in fog is the first priority of the government – Dr. Baljeet Kaur
Punjab Schools: Giving top priority to the safety of school children, the Punjab Government has issued necessary instructions to prevent untoward incidents due to smog during the winter season. In this regard, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljeet Kaur has ordered to fully implement the Safe School Vehicle Policy across the state.
Punjab government committed to security
Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to protecting the lives of children. The government has a clear policy that every child of the state should reach home from home and back home from school in a safe environment. Under this approach, all safety rules related to school vehicles are being strictly followed during winter and foggy season.
Regular checking of school vehicles
He said that under the Safe School Vehicle Policy of the Transport Department, regular inspection of school vehicles will be done across the state and compliance with all the prescribed rules of the policy will be ensured, so that any kind of untoward incident can be prevented.
Clear instructions issued to school management
Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that for safe operation of school vehicles during the foggy season, it has been made mandatory to ensure visibility, reduce vehicle speed, use of reflectors and keep headlights and fog lights on. Clear instructions have been issued to drivers and school management in this regard.
Children and employee safety is our priority
Giving strict instructions to the schools, he said that if the school vehicles reach the school late due to fog, then no pressure should be created. Understanding the situation, priority should be given to the safety of lives of children and employees traveling in school vehicles. The safety of children will not be compromised at any cost by the Punjab Government.
