Recruitment of Senior Assistant in Punjab SSSB, know complete details including salary, fees

Punjab SSSB Vacancy 2026: Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has released the recruitment notification for Senior Assistant posts for the year 2026. This recruitment is a good opportunity for those candidates who are preparing for government jobs and have completed graduation.

When will registration start?

The online application process for this recruitment has started from 7 March 2026 and interested candidates can apply till 28 March 2026. Applications will be accepted through online mode only. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website of the board, sssb.punjab.gov.in.

Who can apply?

To apply for this recruitment, the candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized university or institute. Apart from this, the candidate should also have computer knowledge. For this, at least 120 hours of computer course should be done from a government recognized or ISO 9001 certified institute. If a candidate has ‘O’ level certificate from National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), the same will also be valid.

Punjabi language is necessary

As per Punjab Government rules, the candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th) with Punjabi language as a subject. If the candidate has not studied Punjabi subject, he/she will have to pass any equivalent examination in Punjabi language.

Typing test will also have to be given

Candidates who qualify the written examination will have to appear in a computer based typing test. In this, typing speed of at least 30 words per minute in both English and Punjabi languages ​​will be required. Punjabi typing will have to be done in Unicode compliant font Raavi. However, this typing test will be of qualifying nature only.

age limit

In this recruitment, the maximum age limit for general category candidates has been kept at 37 years. Whereas SC, ST and BC category candidates of Punjab have been given age relaxation and the maximum age for them has been fixed at 42 years. Apart from this, the maximum age limit for state or central government employees has been fixed at 45 years.

• Ex-Serviceman, EWS, PWD and LDESM (Punjab candidates only) – Rs 500
• SC and BC category candidates of Punjab – Rs 750
• All other category candidates – Rs 1500

selection process

Candidates will be selected in this recruitment in three phases.

1. Written Examination
First of all the candidates will have to give objective type written examination. Multiple choice questions will be asked in this.

The thing to note is that negative marking will also be applicable in the examination. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

2. Typing Test
Candidates successful in the written examination will have to appear in a computer based typing test. In this, typing speed of 30 words per minute in both English and Punjabi languages ​​will be required.

3. Document Verification
After the typing test, the candidates included in the merit list will be called for document verification.

How much salary will you get?

The candidates selected in this recruitment will be appointed to the post of Senior Assistant. This post comes under pay level-6. In this, the starting basic salary will be around Rs 35,400 per month. Apart from this, dearness allowance, HRA and other allowances will also be available as per government rules, due to which the total salary can increase further.
