Punjabi Singer Inder Kaur Found Dead In Canal After Alleged Kidnapping Case In Ludhiana – Obnews
Punjabi singer Yashinder Kaur, popularly known as Inder Kaur, was found dead in the Neelon Canal near village Kuba on Tuesday, five days after she was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint from Ludhiana’s Mundian Kalan area, according to TNN.
The 29 year old singer had left her home in a Ford Figo car on May 13 at around 8:30 p.m. to buy groceries, but did not return. Her family later tried to contact her, but her mobile phone was switched off. After searching for her, the family informed police that she had allegedly been abducted from the GTB Nagar area of Mundian Kalan.
Police had already registered an FIR at Jamalpur police station against Sukhwinder Singh, also known as Sukha, a man from Moga who is currently based in Canada, along with his father Pritam Singh and his friend Karamjeet Singh of Bhaloor village in Moga. Police said Pritam Singh and Karamjeet Singh have been arrested.
According to police, Sukhwinder allegedly travelled to India through Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 29 and returned by the same route on May 13, the same day Yashinder Kaur was allegedly kidnapped. Investigators are looking into the sequence of events surrounding his visit and departure.
Sub Inspector Dalvir Singh, SHO of Jamalpur police station, said the family told investigators that Yashinder Kaur and Sukhwinder Singh had previously been in a relationship, but had separated for reasons not yet fully known. Police said the family alleged that Sukhwinder wanted to marry her, but she had refused.
Police recovered the singer’s Ford Figo car around one kilometre from the spot where her body was found. Investigators said blood stains were discovered inside the vehicle. Based on the initial probe, police suspect she may have been killed in the car before her body was dumped into the canal.
The investigation is ongoing, with police continuing to examine evidence, travel details, and the role of the accused named in the FIR. Authorities have not yet released further details about the post mortem findings or any additional arrests in the case.
