“Put out the book and fall in love”, the university advises students on romance during the spring break! Do you know why?

School-college-university vacation means long time for studying at home. Teachers also give various tasks so that students do not waste time. But if the university itself says that there is no need to study on vacation, just love! So? Yes, this is what a Chinese university has done. Spring break students are told, ‘Put the books away and fall in love, romance.’

What exactly is the matter? A vocational college in China has introduced summer and winter vacations as well as spring and autumn vacations. This holiday will be roughly in the beginning of April or May. But there is no need to study on this holiday! Because, the university authorities are saying to put aside the books and make love. It is said to focus on spending time with your partner. But why? According to 2025 statistics, China’s population has declined for four consecutive years. The birth rate has fallen to a record rate. Keeping that in mind, the National Development and Reforms Commission (NDRC) has issued a guideline to promote child-friendly development. According to Reuters, the circular calls for creating ‘child-friendly cities’ by improving public services such as education, health, travel, sports and entertainment.

James Liang, co-founder of Chinese travel company Trip.com and a prominent demographic expert, told Reuters that raising children requires sufficient time as well as money. Which most people don’t get. He is committed to educating the youth about the social and personal benefits of having a large family. Liang also said the government could establish a larger support structure by redistributing resources and increasing financial support.
