Putin India Visit: Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to reach India on Thursday (December 4). This visit is being considered special because this is his first visit to India after the start of Ukraine war in 2022. Putin’s visit to India amid war and strict sanctions from Western countries confirms the strong relations between the two countries.
The Kremlin said in an official statement that the visit will further deepen the ‘privileged strategic partnership’ between India and Russia. Putin will participate in the 23rd annual India-Russia summit during his two-day stay, in which several important agreements are expected in the fields of defence, energy, trade and technology.

Putin’s visit important for India
Just before Putin’s visit to India, Russia has taken a big step towards strengthening its strategic relations with India. Russia’s parliament, the Duma, has approved the Reciprocal Exchange of Logistics Support (RELOS) agreement with India.
Under this agreement, the armies of both the countries will be allowed to easily use each other’s military bases, ports and logistics facilities. This will further intensify coordination in joint exercises, military deployment, military cooperation and disaster relief operations. Experts believe that this agreement can give a new direction to India-Russia defense cooperation during Putin’s visit.
