PWL 2026 Auction Alert: Aman Sehrawat most expensive Indian, number-1 among Susaki women

New Delhi. Paris Olympics bronze medalist Aman Sehrawat has entered the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) auction as the most expensive domestic player with a base price of Rs 18 lakh, while two-time Olympic medalist Yui Susaki and veteran Yusnelis Guzman Lopez have also been placed in the same base price category. The PWL auction is scheduled to be held on January 3 while the league will be held from January 15 to February 1.

The six franchises that will compete in the upcoming season are Haryana Thunders, Tigers of Mumbai Dangal, Punjab Royals, Maharashtra Kesari, Delhi Dangal Warriors and UP Dominators. The ban imposed on 21-year-old Sehrawat for not managing his weight during the World Championships was recently lifted by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). He has been one of India’s best players in recent seasons.

He won medals in the Olympic Games and Asian Games. World and Commonwealth Games medalist Deepak Punia has a base price of Rs 10 lakh. Commonwealth Games gold medalist Naveen is also in this category. Sujit Kalkal, one of the best wrestlers in India at present, however, has kept his base price at just Rs 7 lakh. The foreign men’s category is dominated by European and Eurasian wrestlers.

Former world and European champion Abasgadji Magomedov of Russia has a base price of Rs 10 lakh. The same category also includes World Championship medalist Arman Andreasyan of Armenia and 2023 world champion Izmail Musukajev of Hungary. Multiple-time World and European medalist and Olympian Arsen Harutyunyan of Armenia and defending World and European champion Usmanov Akhmed of Russia are expected to make big bids. The base price of both is Rs 10 lakh.

World Championship medalist in women’s wrestling and India’s star player Anant Panghal has been placed in the base price category of Rs 10 lakh, while Anshu Malik, who is struggling to regain her form, is also in the same category. Swati Shinde, Pooja Gehlot are also among the top Indian names who are expected to garner a lot of interest. Tokyo Olympics gold and Paris Games bronze medalist Susaki of Japan has a base price of Rs 18 lakh, which is the highest among women wrestlers. Paris Olympics silver medalist Lopez of Cuba has also got a place in this category.
