Questions raised in Parliament on the misdeeds of Galgotias University, Government silent on Robo Dog

DMK MP KE Prakash asked questions in Parliament regarding the robo dog controversy that came to light during the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The government’s answer to the questions asked is now raising new questions. In Starred Question No. 370 asked in the Lok Sabha, issues like controversy related to Robo Dog, its authenticity and fixing responsibility were clearly raised, but these important questions were not mentioned directly in the official reply of the government. Instead a lengthy description of the AI mission and India’s technological achievements was given.

According to the reply given in Parliament, the robo dog controversy was mentioned in only one line. In which it was told that an exhibitor, Galgotias University, made misleading claims about the robotic product, after which it was removed from the expo. However, no clear information was given on the key points raised in the question such as checking the authenticity of the product, fixing responsibility and prevention of such incidents in future.

Government mentioned Youth Congress controversy

Another surprising thing in the government’s reply was that the protest by the Indian Youth Congress and the FIR registered against it was mentioned in detail in four lines. Whereas there was no mention of this topic in the question asked in Parliament.

“A group of Indian Youth Congress workers held a shirtless protest at an exhibition hall at the AI Impact Summit venue in New Delhi on Friday, 20 February 2026,” the government responded. The reply further said that the police registered an FIR alleging criminal conspiracy, causing hurt to a public servant, unlawful assembly and common intention.

Government deviating from questions in response

The robo dog controversy was the focus of questions asked in Parliament but the government spent a large part of its answer promoting the ‘India AI Mission’ and the country’s AI capabilities. In response, figures like Rs 10,000 crore AI mission, providing 38,000 GPUs, development of 12 major language models and India’s global AI leadership were presented.

However, these figures reflect technological progress. But the question arises that when an answer was sought in Parliament specifically on a controversy, why were achievements cited instead of giving concrete information on it?
