Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw clearly said in the House that this song has already been banned. He also stressed that it is necessary to follow the “reasonable restrictions” prescribed in the Constitution along with freedom of expression. The minister made it clear that in view of the rapid spread of content on digital platforms, the government will not give any relaxation regarding the safety of children, women and weaker sections.
Here, the film’s director Prem Jogi gave clarification on the entire controversy and said that people are drawing wrong conclusions without understanding the entire song. According to him, this song has not been made with any obscene intention. He said that if someone’s thinking is negative then he can look at anything in a wrong way. He also said that he has full faith in the Censor Board and will stand by its decision.
Amidst the controversy, the director’s wife Rakshita also expressed her displeasure on social media. He raised the question that when earlier there was not so much objection on songs like “Choli Ke Peeche” or bold films, then why is such a big controversy being created over a song now?
