R Ashwin trolls Anshul Kamboj’s lookalike for joining Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony

Former actor Joseph Vijay was sworn in as the new Tamil Nadu chief minister on Sunday. The 51-year-old took the oath in front of a massive crowd, which contained some of the biggest names from the Tamil movie industry and political circles. One cricket fan was quick to spot a security personnel member standing behind Vijay who resembled Chennai Super Kings pacer Anshul Kambojleading to some funny banter.

The fan in question took to his X-account and wrote, “Respect for my bro Anshul Kamboj. He’s doing double duty. Standing in security for Tamil Nadu CM Vijay and then joining CSK at 3 PM for the match.”

Former Indian spin legend R. Ashwin was quick to join in the fun and replied to the post. The 39-year-old wrote, “Duty always comes first, but on a must-win match day. It’s a bit too much. It’s a day game, get a cab & get to Chepauk ASAP, Anshul Kamboj. Big Game.”

CSK bowlers face the heat against the rampaging LSG batting

Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first, and went in with the same side. For the visiting side, Josh Inglis came into the playing XI after missing the last encounter due to injury. Mitchell Marsh, centurion from the last game, saw Inglis going after Chennai bowlers right from the word go.

The pair added 77 runs for the first wicket in just 31 balls before Kamboj dismissed the dangerous Marsh for 10 runs. Dewald Brevis caught the veteran batter at the boundary to give the home side their first wicket. At the end of the powerplay overs, the visitors had managed to score 94 runs for the loss of two wickets.

Josh Ingis powers his way to a 17-ball fifty

31-year-old Inglis, playing his second game of the IPL 2026 season, scored 85 runs from just 33 balls. His innings included ten boundaries and six huge hits beyond the fence. Gaikwad and his bowlers didn’t have any answers to the onslaught from the blade of the Aussie batter.

The opening batter reached his fifty off just 17 balls when he hit Akeal Hosein for a boundary over the extra cover region. Jamie Overton finally ended the fireworks when the batter attempted to play the paddle scoop, only to offer Sanju Samson an easy catch.
