R Sreelekha: Sreelekha’s magic worked in Kerala civic elections, now leading in the race for the post of Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram
The first woman Director General of Police (DGP) of Kerala was Sreelekha, who has created a stir in the political circles by winning the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation elections as a BJP candidate. After the election results of Kerala, people all over the country are wanting to know who Sreelekha is.

Actually, R Sreelekha will be made the face of BJP for the post of Mayor. He has won from Sashtamangalam ward. R Sreelekha registered a landslide victory in the local body elections from Sashtamangalam ward by a margin of 700 votes.
Studied at Cotton Hill School
Born and brought up in Thiruvananthapuram, Sreelekha lost her father at the age of 16. He studied at Cotton Hill School, Thiruvananthapuram. He also had special interest in singing, drama, NCC and NSS.
Teaching at Vidyadhiraj College
Sreelekha did her graduation in English from Thiruvananthapuram Women’s College and then did her post graduation. He also did MBA from IGNOU. He first started teaching at Vidyadhiraj College. After this, he joined the Civil Services while working in the Reserve Bank.
IPS was formed in 1987
In January 1987, she became the first woman IPS officer of Kerala. At the same time, in the year 1991, she became the first woman SP of Thrissur. She has handled police responsibilities in many districts of the state. He served in major agencies including CBI, Kerala Crime Branch, Vigilance Department, Fire Department, Motor Vehicles Department and Prison Department.
