Rabri Devi’s challenging reply to the government on the notice to leave her government residence – ‘Call the force, we will not vacate’
Patna. A new political controversy has arisen over the government residence allotted to Rabri Devi, former Chief Minister of Bihar and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council. After the state government instructed to vacate house number 10 located on Circular Road, Rabri Devi gave a sharp reaction and said that if the government has to vacate the house, then it should take action by sending forces, but she herself will not vacate the house.
While talking to the media at Patna airport on Saturday, Rabri Devi said, “We want to vacate the place by calling the force. If the government has to vacate the place, then it should use the administration and the force, but we will not vacate our place.”
The government asked to vacate the house-
According to the Building Construction Department, under the order issued on 25 November 2025, house number 39 located on Harding Road was allotted to the Leader of Opposition. The department says that despite the availability of a new government residence, Rabri Devi has not yet vacated house number 10 located on Circular Road.
Minister Nandkishore Ram has been allotted-
In the letter issued by the department, it has been told that on May 27, 2026, house number-10 has been allotted to Nandkishore Ram, Minister of Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department. In such a situation, to make the new allotment effective, it is necessary to vacate the house soon.
In the letter issued by the Joint Secretary-cum-Real Estate Officer, it has been said that the approval of the competent authority has been received in this regard and a request has been made to complete the process of vacating the house soon.
Political conflict intensifies-
After Rabri Devi’s statement, this matter seems to be taking political color. On one hand, the government is talking about vacating the houses as per the rules, while on the other hand, RJD can present this issue as a political vendetta. At present, the rhetoric on this dispute is likely to intensify in Bihar politics.
