Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has expressed solidarity with the strike of delivery workers. He said that all these workers are on strike demanding justice for themselves and he supports them. Along with this, he has appealed to all the Insta commerce apps and companies like Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit that the hard work of these gig workers is behind their becoming billion dollar enterprises and they should take full care of them.

Let us tell you that Raghav Chadha had raised the problem of gig workers in the Parliament during the winter session of the Parliament. Actually, a video of a delivery partner had gone viral on social media in which he told that despite working for about 15 hours, his earning was only Rs 763. After this the AAP MP called him for lunch at his home and then raised this issue in the Rajya Sabha also.

Delivery partners on strike before New Year

You may not be able to order food from your favorite restaurant on New Year’s Eve. The reason is the strike of lakhs of delivery partners. These workers, who work for many major companies including Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, Zepto, are on strike on Wednesday over issues like low wages, unsafe working conditions and lack of social security. These strikes can affect your New Year celebrations. But if this happens, then it would be a good initiative to try to understand so many problems of these delivery partners along with this small problem of yours. The strike raises questions about the unsustainability of the gig economy, where the price of convenience is being paid at the risk of human life.

Raghav Chadha supports gig workers

Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has shown solidarity with the delivery partners amid the gig workers’ strike. Speaking with ANI, he said that we have to understand that these are not robots or bonded labourers. Atrocities are happening with them. They are forced to go on a one-day strike to express their problems. They do not get social security, they do not get any retirement benefits, they do not get any permanent job and if they express any kind of protest against the irregularities, they are logged out of the app. Many methods are adopted to harass them. Raghav Chadha said that today we should listen to them and all the companies should take decisions for their betterment. He said that I appeal to the management of all the companies to look at them, listen to their problems and find solutions.
