Raghav Chadha’s first post after being removed from the post of deputy leader goes viral on social media

Taking an important organizational decision, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday removed Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab Raghav Chadha from the post of Deputy Leader in the House. The party has also written a letter to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat in this regard requesting that Chadha should not be given time to speak under the party’s quota. After this decision, there was an uproar in the political circles, but no displeasure or disagreement was openly expressed from Raghav Chadha’s side.

Soon after the verdict, Chadha shared a video on his X (formerly Twitter) account. In this video, he did not mention about his removal from the post or any dispute with the party leadership. Instead, the video shows a glimpse of various public interest issues raised by him in the Rajya Sabha. These clips were much discussed on social media earlier also and went viral rapidly among the people.

In the video, Chadha is shown speaking on important topics related to common citizens. These include issues like validity of mobile data packs, status of gig workers working on quick-commerce platforms, availability of health services and adulteration of food items. He also talked about validating the mobile recharge plan for the entire month instead of 28 days and carrying forward the remaining data.

What did Chadha say on the issue of gig workers?

On the issue of gig workers, he expressed concern over the low wages, stressful working conditions and lack of social security of delivery workers of companies like Blinkit, Zomato and Swiggy. Apart from this, there was also a demand for changes in the copyright law to protect the interests of digital content creators.

In the health sector, he put forward the concept of “One Nation, One Health Treatment” and raised questions on the functioning of private hospitals. Besides, the issue of adulteration in food items and use of dangerous chemicals in it was also raised prominently. He also suggested providing food at cheaper rates at airports.

This post of his got tremendous response on social media. In just one hour, lakhs of people watched the video, thousands liked it and a large number of people also gave their feedback. Apart from this, he also gave suggestions like abolishing bank penalty, joint income tax return and making paternity leave a legal right, which are important issues related to the common people.
