Chennai: Following the recent announcement of AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s separation after 29 years of marriage, their daughter Raheema Rahman has spoken out against the rumours and speculations surrounding the split.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Raheema called out those spreading false information, stating, “Rumours are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” She urged people to respect her family’s privacy during this challenging time.
AR Rahman and Saira Banu, who share three children – Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen – confirmed their separation through a joint statement earlier this week. The couple cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their decision, despite their deep love for each other.
Raheema also shared a message of resilience, quoting, “Through every hardship, there is ease. Your Lord is going to give you and you will be satisfied.” She expressed gratitude for the support from friends and fans, while emphasizing the importance of privacy for her family.
The Rahman family has requested that the public and media respect their need for space as they navigate this difficult period.
